OUR SERVICES

Routine Exams

Regular dental check-ups are important for maintaining good oral hygiene and health. By going for regular check-ups, your dentist will be able to help you detect any dental problems ahead of time. We recommend you get a check-up every six months.

At Dental Arts of Harrogate, we want you to have the best experience possible. This is what we call the Dental Arts Experience. Following your check-up, we provide you with a detailed treatment plan and estimation of pricing. This is before you begin whatever treatment necessary for your particular dental health needs. We do this so you can fully understand your options and all costs involved ahead of treatment. We always ‘inform before we perform’ so you don’t get any surprises.

Dental Fillings

Dental Fillings are used to replace the parts of the tooth that have been lost, due to a number of reasons. These include wear and tear, decay and accidental damage. There are a variety of different materials that can be used for filling teeth. The most common type of filling is dental amalgam. This is made from a mixture of mercury and different metals. Composite or white fillings are less obvious and more natural looking. They are almost identical to the natural tooth.

The different types of fillings are listed below:

  • Amalgam (silver coloured)

  • Composite/ White (tooth coloured)

  • Gold inlays and onlays (gold coloured)

  • Porcelain inlays (tooth coloured)

Emergency Dentistry

Unexpected dental problems can occur and it is recommended to visit the dentist at your earliest opportunity to prevent further aggravation. If you encounter an unbearable toothache, we are here to give you the experienced help you are looking for. We will diagnose the issue and treat it in the best possible way. Don’t be nervous, we will ensure we explain the treatment that will follow and make you feel comfortable. Our many years of experience in the field, allows us to provide the dental care you may need to recover

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are fixed to the outer surface of the tooth to restore shape, strength, function and appearance. They encase a tooth that has been badly damaged or decayed and are cemented on to the surface of the teeth. Since dental crowns cover the entire visible aspect of a tooth, a dental crown in effect becomes the tooth’s new outer surface. Crowns can be made out of porcelain, zirconia (a very hard ceramic), metal (a gold or other metal alloy), or a combination of both.

Dental Hygiene

During a routine Scale and Polish at Dental Arts, your hygienist will thoroughly clean all deposits and stains from teeth. They will scale away tartar build-up from tooth surfaces and polish your teeth using special dental instruments. You can feel tartar build up on the backs of your teeth with your tongue. After a professional clean, you will be able to feel ridges and valleys between each tooth. You will also get an extra-squeaky clean feeling afterwards.

Dentures

A denture is a custom-made appliance that is worn over the gums to replace missing natural teeth. They are normally removable and are usually made from lifelike resin teeth bonded to an acrylic, semi-flexi or chrome base. Dentures help to improve chewing ability and speech. They also provide support for facial muscles by filling out your face and improving confidence as a result.

Your dentist may offer one of the following options:

  • A Complete denture (a full set) replaces your upper or lower natural teeth

  • Partial dentures that replace one or a few teeth and that are held in place by metal clips (non-metallic versions also available).

Boutique Tooth Whitening

We understand how important it is to feel confident in your smile. Teeth Whitening brightens the shade of your teeth so they appear whiter, fresher and brighter. Your Dental Arts dentist will first assess your suitability for teeth whitening following a dental examination. Once suitability is confirmed, your dentist will talk to you about the options available.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are artificial replacements for your missing tooth that are placed within the bone of your jaw to help support either crowns, dentures or bridges. Implants should provide you with a long lasting tooth replacement if they are cared for in the same way that teeth should be cared for. Our prices are very competitive and start from £1895 for single implants.

Dental Bridges

Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, which may result in a bad bite. Dental bridges or dental implants offer the best means of improving smiles by filling in gaps or replacing missing teeth. Missing teeth can cause a change in occlusion (bite), shifting of the teeth, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), speech impediments, an increased risk for periodontal disease and a greater chance of tooth decay.

Bridges span the space where the teeth are missing. Bridges are cemented to the natural teeth or dental implants surrounding the empty space. These teeth, called abutments, serve as anchors for the bridge. A replacement tooth, called a pontic, is attached to the crowns that cover the abutments. As with crowns, you have a choice of materials for bridges.

Karen Watson

"I read people's reviews here and they really encouraged me to visit Dental Arts for a check up and scale and polish, so I thought I'd leave a review of my own. As a rather nervous patient, Arash and his team immediately put me at ease, reassuringly responding to any questions and concerns I had about visiting the dentist and providing a warm, thoughtful and friendly, as well as highly professional service, throughout my visit. I'm feeling good and have my next visit booked in. Can't recommend Dental Arts and its fab team enough.”
